Business Development Manager
Housing Choices Australia (HCA) creates safe, quality, affordable and long term housing for their tenants. As a leading housing provider they currently manage more than 3,000 properties and tenancies across Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The organisational business strategy for 2014 - 2017 identifies clear strategic direction and priorities dedicated to the growth, development and management of affordable housing to build on HCA strength and presence in existing states and to establish a corporate model to becoming a Tier 1 national provider.
HCA has four main service delivery and function areas:
Property Development & Asset Management
Finance & Corporate Services
Strategy & Engagement
Reporting to the General Manager, Strategy and Engagement, this newly created role will be responsible for planning, identifying and developing business opportunities with responsibility for coordinating tender submissions, submissions for funding, business development proposals and related projects.
Working closely with the Strategy and Engagement team, this role will build and develop effective partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders, consistently engaging and consulting with key stakeholders to deliver growth.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in securing new business and delivering successful business development projects in the public/community, private housing sector (or transferable sector). This will be supported with experience in preparing and submitting tenders and presenting bids/proposals to various audiences.
Preference will be for candidates with a relevant tertiary qualification and those who demonstrate highly effective communication and presentation skills, exceptional relationship building and partnering skills, and the ability to analyse and negotiate complex commercial arrangements. A knowledge of government processes, housing or community services will be highly regarded.
